During the PC meeting the councillors went off topic and discussed an item not on the Agenda. The discussion centred around the village sign that has been promised for many years at an exorbitant cost. Last night £6000 was being bandied about. The councillors all agreed that the sums being mentioned were unsustainable.
Cllr Wood told a back story about an alternative. He mentioned that a metal bench at a much reduced cost could be procured. The council liked the idea and more research is going to be done, including siting of the bench (personally it should be placed at a focal point such as the crossroads and move the existing bench to another suitable location).
Will follow this one with interest as it seems it could reach fruition if the price is right.
