Just reviewed the audio from the meeting held on the 16th December and uploaded it to YouTube. For clarity the Public Forum has been omitted.
Interesting to note there was a lot of discussion regarding Public Bridleway 8 closure. This bridleway has been closed for over a year at the mainline railway crossing and is unlikely ever to reopen, due to potential safety issues on Network Rail.
Another topical subject discussed was whether the PC should investigate buying more speed awareness signs at cost of over £5000. I would prefer existing roads to be maintained and kerbs respected by the heavy vehicles that use Stubton’s roads. These heavy vehicles are systematically ruining all of the arterial roads leading into Stubton and the Parish council is powerless to restrict the destruction of (such a shame for such a once pretty village).
Passing places are not used and everyone is always in such a hurry that the only solution is that one of the passing vehicles must go off road and thus damaging the delicate infrastructure and environment (people are vocal about protecting the environment, shame they don’t do as they say).
