Council Tax for 2026/27

Below are the rates for Band F.

When all the details are published, I will expand on this post. It amounts to a 3.3% increase!

PeriodAnnual for Band F
12/03/20262026/27£3,195.80
12/03/20252025/26£3,093.61

I think a 3.3% rise is in keeping of my expectations. I am surprised the Police have not received more, as we know they have been struggling financially.

CouncilAmountPercentage
Lincolnshire C.C.£2416.572.9%
South Kesteven D.C£2643,2%
Stubton P.C.£33.6714.1%
Police Commissioner£481.134.7%

Finally, Stubton P.C. is receiving a 14.1% increase, if annual increases continue at this rate, the precept will increase substantially in the coming years.

The precept is the parish’s share of council tax. In Stubton, the spending pattern is dominated by:

  • Clerk’s salary — the single largest cost in recent years.
  • Council administration — insurance, audit fees, website management, meeting costs, and statutory compliance.
  • General governance — mandatory financial reporting, data protection, and other regulatory duties.
  • For 2025/26, nearly all of the £1,617 precept is allocated to governance, leaving very little for discretionary spending. 2026/27 will be no different, even at £1850 precept!
