Claypole to Dry Doddington Road Litter!

Yesterday, for a couple of hours we collected 12 bags of rubbish (mainly alcohol containers) and other items of detritus on the Claypole to Dry Doddington Road. A great time to do this, as you can see all the waste before the grass grows. On a positive note the walk is also good exercise.

My shock is that people think it’s acceptable to litter and residents also, otherwise there would be regular litter picks organised (once per year is not enough).

Stubton arterial roads also suffer in the same way. We also collected on Claypole Road and Clensey Lane last week, but because these are regularly picked, there was only three green bags of detritus. Interesting to note that litter has already been dropped on these roads, but it’s not a vast amount and can be easily collected on a brisk walk with a small bag. I will amend the post from what I discover on Fenton Road today, after being clear of litter last week.

Unfortunately, many villages suffer from the same people who prefer to discard items from their vehicles rather than take them home. Hopefully, the much talked about recycle machines will be available soon that will reimburse you for recycling (they have been in used in places such as Hong Kong for years). Click for LINK on an example of these machines.

FYI: The Green bags are supplied FOC. Bags reported to FixMyStreet who organise collection.
