Are you affected by SKDC’s early Council Tax Direct Debit?
Dear Customer,
We would like to offer our sincere apologies after a Council Tax Direct Debit was taken on Wednesday 29th July 2026, rather than Monday 3rd August.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and for any financial impact you may have experienced.
What you need to know
- We will not attempt to take another Direct Debit payment on 3rd August.
- If you have incurred any additional charges or fees from your bank as a result of this we will reimburse you within a week of your request
To make a claim, you will need to send us:
A copy of your bank statement or a letter from your bank, clearly showing the early withdrawal, the bank fees or overdraft charges that have been incurred as a result of this error, as well as:
- Your full name and address
- Council Tax account number
- Proof of charges incurred

However, if this early Direct Debit payment has been rejected by your bank due to this issue, you will still need to make this payment via the following alternative methods outlined here:

- Phone our automated payment line on: 03300 886753

A Direct Debit Indemnity scheme is in place to secure a refund through your bank. This is the fastest way to restore money to the customers account.
