Recently, the parish Council asked the County Council for funding to build a footpath between Claypole and Stubton. I don’t think anyone would object to the concept, but the cost of £300,000 for such a path when there are other demands on the public purse would be difficult, which proved to be the case. However, there is a requirement for repairs of footpaths in the village and additional paths to be laid on Doddington Lane and extended down Fenton Road towards the Village Hall. Maybe this is something our energetic council could look into?
